So I’m back for another sidelights series on site, on a project, I want to talk about something that has come up in some conversations recently. There’s an old saying in our industry that you can choose a great price, great service or great quality, but you can choose any two of the three.
And that’s absolutely true. You cannot get all three of those. But I do want to spend a little time and talk about what happens when you choose those two. What’s your project going to look like? And first off, I’d like to say that you can have just one of them. You can have just a low price. It’s going to be a terrible project because you’ve got no quality and no service. That’s horrible. I hope you never go through that. You can choose just good service, I guess, where the price is really high and the quality and quality is terrible. I hope that doesn’t happen. I’m not really sure what that would look like. And you certainly use great quality with terrible service and and really high price. But, you know, those things are all kind of unique, more of them that you get this overlap. So if we look at it like a Venn diagram, you’ve got great quality, great service, great price. Well, let’s you take price and service. What happens? OK, you have this low price and really good service.
That’s actually probably not a bad choice for a short-term project if you’re going to put your house on the market in the next six months because you’re going to like the experience, the price is going to be good, but it is not going to be a lasting value. So be aware that’s what happens when those two overlap. What if you take great price and great quality but no service? That’s just kind of one of those projects that when people have that happen, you tend to hear about it being a terrible experience. When you talk to somebody and they say, you know, it turned out great, but it was the worst experience, I’d never do it again because that’s the the the company or the helper or the guy, whatever. He just takes forever and you get angry and it’s just it’s not a good experience. We don’t want that to happen. Really, what we want to do with our team is we want to give you that great quality and great service.
Yes, the price is going to be higher, but when you overlap quality and service, you get lasting value. And that’s really what’s most important in our in our world, I believe really strongly remodeling projects should last a long time homes should last for a long time if they’re properly thought out and they’re properly maintained.
And we remodel a lot of kitchens and bathrooms that are 50, 60, 70 years old, there’s no reason why your project shouldn’t last another 50, 60, 70 years long. So great quality. Great service. Yeah, you’re going to pay a higher price for your to get the lasting value. So really, to me it’s a matter of do you choose lasting value or short-term value? That’s really where you have to make a decision on what’s best for you and your family. If you’re going to stay in your home long term, stick with the lasting value of great quality and great service. Thanks a lot.
